I know marketing is a part of the process, but I’ve always believed that the most important thing I can do is make sure I write great movies. It’s reassuring to read that this is the case.

And yet, as a screenwriter who lives nowhere near Hollywood and has absolutely no connections in the industry, I can’t help but fell disheartened at times. I just have no idea what first step to take. I’ve entered a few competitions — even placed well in some — but I feel like I need to be doing something more urgent with. I’ve written a strong script that virtually nobody has read other than a few judges.

Where do I go from here?
